The latest Work From Wherever Index advises that if you can work remotely from a country that offers an outstanding balance of work and leisure, why not take it? The index ranks 111 countries based on their remote working conditions and opportunities for unforgettable experiences.
The ranking, based on 22 factors subdivided into six categories such as health, safety, travel expenses, and social relationships, among others, shows that Portugal tops the list with a score of 100 out of 100, followed by Spain with 93 out of 100 and Romania with 91.7 out of 100. Mauritius ranks fourth with a final score of 90.1 out of 100.
Mauritius scored 70 out of 100 on the “Travel” criterion and 84 out of 100 on the “Local Prices” category. However, it scored lower in the “Social Life” category, 2 out of 100, and 56 out of 100 in the “Remote Work” category. Nevertheless, the island is the highest-ranked country in the Africa/Middle East region, ahead of Seychelles and the United Arab Emirates.
